Summary
In regards to Co-curricular programs the sports programme assistant will supervise, coordinate and implement School sports programmes established by the Athletics Coordinator, including seasonal sports, community sports and summer programmes. This role will execute day-to-day operations and provide effective administrative support for the overall implementation, organisation and day-to-day running of Sports Programmes at YCIS. The Sports Programme assistant will coach YCIS Secondary teams, attend games, tournaments, and championships throughout the school year. A strong background in swimming is advantageous as we look to build a competitive swim program.
Co-curricular Duties
• Work with the Sports and Activities team and teacher coaches to ensure that sports teams have adequate training resources and that the quality of sports delivered in YCIS remains consistently high
• Coach swimming program
• Oversee programmes that are coached by externally hired staff
• Undertake all administrative duties as directed by Athletics coordinator
• Attend daytime games when external coaches are unavailable
• Ensure that team members are encouraged to be fair, play safe and show good sportsmanship.
• Working with the Athletics coordinator to regularly update the sports and activities calendar with game times, event times, fixtures and results
• Coach sports where needed
• Assist coaches where needed
• This position will also undertake any other duties assigned by the Athletics coordinator
• Weekend and/or holiday commitments
PE Duties
• Assist the PE department with day to day tasks
• Work cooperatively with the PE teachers to support student skill development
• Equipment set up
• Bilingual Cantonese/English |
| Job Requirements: |
• Diploma holder or above in Sports related degree, management degree with associated sports professional experience and/or teaching qualification advantageous
• Experience in and enjoy teaching/coaching young children
• Good command of both written and spoken English, Chinese and knowledge of Mandarin is an advantage
• Experience in sport training and swimming coaching is preferred
• Willing to work outdoor, available to work on weekdays, weekends and public holidays - Able to work under pressure and enjoy team work |
