Job Description: |
YOUR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Leadership and Strategy • Working closely with the corporate directors, to lead and manage all school non-academic divisions. • Negotiate and influence strategic decision making within the SLT. • In the absence of the Executive Principal, take delegated responsibility for financial and other decisions. • Plan and manage change in accordance with the school strategic plan and other development plans. • Effective risk management, including health and safety and in the management of third-party service contracts including, grounds maintenance, cleaning etc. • Liaison with all school stakeholders to ensure that all strategic avenues of improvement are investigated. • Attend SLT meetings and other meetings as required by the Executive Principal.
Finance and Accounting Management Working with the Head of Finance and Accounting Division: • Evaluate information and work alongside other members of the SLT to prepare a realistic and balanced budget for the school on an annual basis. • Use the agreed budget to actively monitor and control performance to achieve value for money. • Maintain a strategic financial plan that will indicate the trends and requirements of the School development plan and will forecast future year budgets • Monitor the effectiveness and implementation of contracts and agreements. • Work with the School Advancement team to seek additional avenues for school funding. • To assist the Executive Principal with the effective management of financial administration procedures, including compliance with financial regulations and ensuring adherence to the school financial policy and responsible for informing all staff of changes to regulations. • Advise the Executive Principal if fraudulent activities are suspected or uncovered.
Human Resource Management Working with the Head of Human Resources Division: • Manage the payroll services for all school staff and associated services • Ensure that all recruitment, appraisal, staff development, grievance, disciplinary and redundancy policies and procedures comply with legal and regulatory requirements. • Manage recruitment, performance management, appraisal and development for all non-academic staff. • Monitor the relevant legal, regulatory, ethical and social requirements and the effect they have on School and staff. • Seek and make use of specialist expertise in relation to HR issues. • Evaluate the School’s strategic objectives and obtain information for workforce planning. • Identify the types of skills, knowledge, understanding and experience required to undertake existing and future planned activities.
Marketing and Admissions Working with the Head of Marketing and Admissions: • In partnership with other members of the SLT, set a reasonable enrolment target based on market data and work to attain the target. • In partnership with other members of the SLT, plan and participate in student recruitment activities to increase enrolment. • In partnership with other members of the SLT, work to maximise student retention. • Assess marketing trends and make appropriate recommendations.
Information Technology Working alongside the Head of Information Technology Division and the Education Technology Coordinator: • Consider approaches for existing use and future plans to introduce or discard technology in the School. • Consult with relevant parties to introduce new technology or improve existing technology for different purposes. • Ensure that the School has a strategy for using technology aligned to the overall vision and plans for the school ensuring value for money. • Ensure data collection systems providing information to stakeholders are streamlined to maximise efficiency of the data supplied. • Manage systems and link processes that interact across the School to form complete systems.
Facility Management and Health and Safety Working with the Head of Support & Maintenance Division and other parties: • Ensure the supervision of relevant planning and construction processes is undertaken in line with contractual obligations. • Ensure support services e.g. catering, cleaning, busing, are monitored and managed effectively. • Monitor, assess and review contractual obligations for outsourced school services. • Ensure a safe environment for the stakeholders of the School to provide a secure environment in which due learning processes can be provided. • Manage the letting of school premises to external organisations, for the development of the extended services and local community requirements. • Seek professional advice on insurance and advise other members of the SLT on appropriate insurances for the school and implement and manage such schemes accordingly. • Ensure the Health & Safety Policy is implemented at all times, put into practice and is subject to review and assessment at regular intervals or as situations change.
Additional Responsibilities • Responsible for communication and work with relevant government authorities and other external parties. • Ensure the School’s compliance with HKSAR laws and government regulations. • Use data analysis, evaluation and reporting systems to maximum effect by ensuring systems are streamlined to maximise efficiency and avoid duplication. • Address parents’ concerns in accordance with our educational philosophy. • To play a full part in the life of the school community, to support its distinctive aims and ethos and to encourage staff and students to follow this example. • To continue personal professional development. • To engage actively in the performance review process. • To undertake any other duty as specified by the Executive Principal or CEO & School Supervisor not mentioned above.

Job Requirements: |
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU NEED TO BE: • Over 10 years general management experience in medium to large firms, preferably in a multicultural environment. • Proven track record in business process optimisation preferably in high-end services serving high net-worth clientele. • Proven track record in people leadership across multiple business functions including but not limited to operations, marketing, finance, IT, and human resources. • Outstanding communication and presentation skills. • Full professional fluency in Cantonese, English, and Putonghua. • Established network with stakeholder community in particular government authorities and other regulatory agencies. • Strong eye for detail, ability to multitask in an environment with rapidly shifting priorities. • Growth mindset with continuous desire to grow and improve. |
