| Job Description: |
1. Work closely with science teachers as part of a technician team under direct supervision by the Head of Science
2. Maintain and follow daily schedule for supplying teachers with resources for lessons, including: preparation of chemical reagents, biological materials, and apparatus/equipment
3. Assist teachers with demonstrations and practical activities in class
4. Set up demonstrations, including audio and visual aids
5. Troubleshoot IT problems when necessary
6. Clean apparatus, work with other school staff to maintain and clean laboratories, following normal safety protocols
7. Check and service / maintain science apparatus
8. Assist in maintaining live specimens, animals and plants including feeding, cleaning and daily upkeep
9. Assist in the purchase of laboratory apparatus, chemicals, biological materials and other necessary items for lessons and stocks by purchase order or petty cash, as appropriate
10. Store apparatus and chemicals systemically and with regard to safety
11. Conduct annual stock taking of all stores and equipment in the laboratory, including apparatus purchased and disposed of in ledgers/computer records
12. Complete other related duties as deemed appropriate by Head of Science |
