Job Description: The main roles of the Performing Arts Assistant are office administration of the Performing Arts co-curricular programs, events and management of the department’s resources. The assistant is a member of the Performing Arts Department and works closely with the Music and Drama teaching staff, parents and students. This role requires the Performing Arts Assistant to have excellent verbal and written communication skills and to be highly organised. No prior performance experience is required.

The Performing Arts Assistant’s line manager will be the Performing Arts Director and the Assistant to the SLT / Head of Office.

The duties of the Performing Arts Assistant include:
Record Keeping:
• Keep accurate records of students participating in Co-Curricular Performing Arts Activities
• Administer the Instrumental Loan Scheme and directly manage students’ borrowing and returning of instruments.
• Ensure that photo and video archives are up-to-date following events and that copies of all media are issued to families following their child’s participation.

Team Management:
• Assist the Performing Arts Director in daily department management
• Assist teachers with parent contact relating to Performing Arts CCAs
• Work with the IIIP Music Assistant on all matters relating to the IIIP (Instrumental Programme)
• Maintain the general wellbeing of the music and drama facilities
• Liaise with Support Division and the School Office on all requirements for events

Administrative Work:
• Design posters, programmes and tickets for Performing Arts Events (experience with Adobe Suite preferred but not essential)
• Handle theatre bookings for Performing Arts Department
• Conduct basic instrument maintenance, such as replacing strings and cleaning
• Arrange the issuing of parent letters to specific students as specified by Performing Arts teachers and according to CCA lists.
• Update visual displays in main school corridor, Drama and Music faculties
• Undergo training on theatre operation, in order to offer assistance for basic theatre uses
• Manage the Performing Arts Blog (Edublogs) and communicate new posts via parent email.
• Assist the Performing Arts Team with the ordering of resources and other services

The Perfoming Arts Assistant will carry out other tasks as required by the Performing Arts Director and the Assistant to the SLT / Head of Office. The Perfoming Arts Assistant will be based at Century Park Campus but will be required to support at both Pudong campuses as required.
