| Job Description: |
Position Overview The Residence Hall Teacher plays a key role in supporting students’ holistic development within the residential boarding environment. The successful candidate will help foster a safe, caring, structured, and engaging community that promotes student wellbeing, character development, intercultural understanding, and independent living skills.
This role requires a strong commitment to student care, relationship-building, and collaborative engagement with students, families, and school staff. Key Responsibilities • Supervise and support students within the residence hall environment. • Build positive relationships with students and provide pastoral care and mentorship. • Promote a strong residential culture focused on wellbeing, respect, responsibility, and community. • Teach academic and life skills as a structured course (e.g., study methods, time management, teamwork) with planned lessons and observable student outputs. • Organise and facilitate residential life activities, events, and enrichment programmes. • Design and deliver a structured ESL/EAL curriculum, including weekly lessons and learning assessments to track student progress. • Maintain appropriate standards of student behaviour and uphold safeguarding expectations. • Conduct weekly learning check-ins focused on each student’s progress within the RH Learning Programme, produce termly learning reports and stakeholder communications. • Support evening, weekend, and overnight duties as part of the residential roster. • Work collaboratively with teachers, counsellors, administrators, parents, and campus leadership teams. • Assist with arrival, departure, orientation, and transition programmes for boarding students. • Ensure residence hall procedures, health and safety protocols, and emergency procedures are followed. • Participate and contribute actively to school based and corporate-level activities. |
| Job Requirements: |
Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Recognised teaching qualification and/or boarding qualification preferred. • Experience working with children, adolescents, or within residential/boarding environments is preferred. • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills. • Ability to work in a multicultural and fast-paced environment. • Mature, responsible, and student-centred approach. • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. • Commitment to safeguarding and student well-being. • Experience in designing age-appropriate learning projects, activities, and residential hall curriculum. Supporting Experiences/Qualifications • Boarding certification or professional qualifications such as BSA certification or equivalent. • First Aid and safeguarding training certifications. • Experience in developing or supporting boarding ESL/EAL programmes for multilingual learners and tracking their progress and development over time. • Experience in pastoral care, student leadership, or youth development programmes.
