Reporting to: Senior Leadership Team (SLT)
Position Overview:
The Head of Secondary School is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the educational and operational excellence of the Secondary School, ensuring alignment with the school's mission and strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership: Lead and inspire teaching staff, embodying the school's mission and vision, and maintaining trust among students, parents, and colleagues.
2. Operational Management: Collaborate with the Deputy Head to manage day-to-day operations, including resource deployment and strategic planning for continuous improvement.
3. Curriculum and Teaching Excellence: Drive high standards in learning and teaching, support curriculum implementation, and foster innovative teaching practices.
4. Student Wellbeing: Safeguard students and support their pastoral care, ensuring a conducive environment for learning and personal growth.
Staff Development: Build high-performing teams, facilitate professional development, and conduct staff appraisals.
5. Communication: Act as a liaison between the school and external entities, ensuring effective communication with all stakeholders.
6. Parental Engagement: Engage with parents, providing information and updates on student progress and school initiatives.
Professional Development and Compliance:
Stay abreast of educational trends, contribute to school policies, and ensure compliance with educational standards and regulations.
Qualifications:
1. Demonstrated leadership and management experience in an educational setting.
2. A commitment to excellence in teaching and learning.
3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Additional Duties:
May include representing the school at events, contributing to marketing initiatives, and overseeing administrative tasks related to student reporting and resource management. |
