The first Yew Chung School was established in Hong Kong in 1932, and this year, the network of Yew Chung International Schools (YCIS) will be celebrating their 85-year heritage, as a family of high-quality international schools across China, Hong Kong, and Silicon Valley (USA), serving over 6000 students from preschool through to high school. Our schools aim to nurture globally competitive and responsible students through high quality academic and extra curricula programmes, infused with the best of “East and West” cultures that equip children to be bilingual, global-minded, appreciative and caring. We nurture globally competitive students and shape their character into responsible global citizens with the competencies and skills required in the 21st century.
Yew Chung International School (YCIS) Shanghai consists of five campuses, centrally located in the districts of Pudong and Puxi, offering high quality international education from Early Childhood to Year 13 (IBDP), with a total enrolment in excess of 2000 students.
For 2018/19, we are seeking to appoint an Executive Principal (EP) to lead and manage the school, in partnership with a School Business Manager (SBM).
The Pudong and Puxi campuses will be led respectively by pairs of Co-Principals, Chinese and Western, who will have responsibility for the daily operations of the campuses under their jurisdiction. The Co-Principals, along with the EP and SBM, will constitute the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) of YCIS Shanghai.
The EP and SBM will have joint responsibility for oversight of the YCIS-Shanghai SLT, ensuring implementation of operational and academic decisions in accordance with applicable Headquarter policies, school strategic and annual implementation plans, and other decisions as agreed by the SLT.
The EP and SBM are accountable to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the YCIS Schools. |

The EP and SBM will have joint responsibility for oversight of YCIS-Hong Kong, ensuring implementation of operational and academic decisions in accordance with applicable Yew Chung Education Foundation policies, school strategic and annual implementation plans, and other decisions as agreed by the Senior Leadership Team, comprising Chinese and Western Co-Principals with campus-based responsibilities.
The EP and SBM are accountable to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and school supervisor of the YCIS Schools.
